MP 5

For my micro project five my word was crease and to me every time I thought of the word crease I could help but think off folding too. It took me a very long time to brainstorm ideas about how I should go about this. I first thought of trying to make it look like the river would have a crease in it but that didn’t turn out how I wanted it to. So I think came up with the idea to make crease marks all over the Ohio State Stadium. I just imagined how cool it would be if you could just fold up our enormous stadium and just put it in a car and take it anywhere so all our games would be played in the horseshoe. That is why I have a little picture of the stadium in the middle giving you a feel for how small it would be after all the crease marks and folding.

For my micro project four cartoon I choose to give myself the power of teleporting. I think this would be the best power you could ever have because think about it you would never be late for anything, you would get to sleep in much later if you had something to do early in the morning, and also if you tired of being in Ohio you could just go to the beach for a couple of hours. This idea came to me from watching the movie jumper where they can teleport to where ever they want. For my project I choose to have a picture of my house on top and then a picture of where our classroom is on bottom. I then used the internet to make a cartoon out of myself. After that I used some effects to make it look like my cartoon was actually teleporting from my house to class. This would save me so much time because it’s probably like a 20 min walk for me to class every day.

I choose the tuff field where we play/practice lacrosse because I look forward to playing games and practicing with all my teammate every day. The object I choose was the goal because I play middie and my objective is to score. In the first picture I moved to goal far off in the distance so it might be hard to see. The reason I did that was because I know the field doesn’t just get used for lacrosse it is shared by numerous other club sports so I wanted to show how lacrosse was no the main focus of the field. In the second picture I thought it would be cool to get the OSU stadium in there because it shows how big Ohio State football is compared to club lacrosse. I found it funny how big of a difference the two sports are.

MP 2

For my final picture of my Micro Project 2 I choose to make a collage of all my pictures. I kept all of my pictures the original size because they are all apart of me and I don’t like one object more than the other they all are equally apart of my life. The only object that I did scale down was the Karrer Lacrosse t-shirt. The reason I did that was because I wanted to put it on my work nametag. Since I coach at Karrer I thought of it as a job as well. It took a while for me to arrange everything just they way I wanted it. Since the object were all so big it was hard to make one picture that was appealing to eye. I also tried not to leave any white in the background because of the fact that these are the things that take up most time in my life. This image is basically me in a nutshell.

I choose my IPhone because I would never go anywhere without it. It makes everything so much easier and you can do just about anything on it. I’m pretty much obsessed.
Overly Obsessed

I choose my wallet because again I never go anywhere without it. It holds all of my important things like my Id, credit and debit card, and buck Id.

Attached

I choose my headphones because I use them every day, whether it is for running, working out, or walking to class there is not a day that goes by without me using them. The best part about them is that there is no cord the music is stored right in the actual headphones.

Daily Fix

I choose an Ohio State Logo because I love being a student at the Ohio State University. I would not want to go to any other school. There is so much to do here on campus and there is rarely a time that I am bored.

Endless Possibilities

I choose my lacrosse helmet because I play club lacrosse here at Ohio State. Lacrosse is my favorite sport and I enjoy getting to be a part of a team here at Ohio State. I am really competitive so I can’t image not playing any type of sport.
Competitor

I choose my computer because I don’t think I could get through my school or work career without it. I use it for everything. I am always checking Carmen on my computer.

Personal Helper

I choose my T.V. because I love watching it. Some of my favorite shows to watch are How I Met Your Mother and Entourage. I watch T.V. a lot maybe sometimes too much and should do my school work instead.
Procrastinator

I choose my work name tag because I enjoy where I work. I work at Lifetime Fitness in the kids department. I love working with kids, some of the thing they do and say are so funny. It also doesn’t hurt that I get a free membership to work out there and use their facility.

Surprising

This is a picture of one of my coaching shirts. I coach a middle school lacrosse team in Dublin Ohio. The name of the school is Karrer. I choose to take a picture of this because I like sharing my knowledge of lacrosse with younger kids to try and help them improve and grow as athletes.

Enjoyable Knowledge

This is a picture of my roommate’s dog. Her name is Callie. She is one of the funniest dogs that I know. When my roommates and I are watching T.V. and any type of animal shows up on the screen she will not stop barking at it.

Crazy Pug

I choose my car because I have put a lot of time into it. My car used to be completely stock; just a plain silver Ford Mustang.

Time Killer

MP 1

This was my first time using Photoshop in a while but, I started to get the hang of it as I got further in my creation. The first thing I did was get an actual map of where I walk every day to get to class. I then used pictures of buildings that stand out to me as I walk. I first choose my house where I am always tired when I leave, that is why I wrote tired under it. I then cross high street and smell Domino’s Pizza every day. After that the only building I really notice until I get to the stadium is the Jesse Owens Facility because I work out there sometimes. I think because I walk with my roommate every morning is why I don’t notice too much going on around me. That is why I kind of faded out everything else around me with transparent black brush strokes. I choose to then put the sky and grass in to make it feel as if you were looking at an aerial view of the map and if you were to be actually walking and look up or down you would see the sky and grass.

Kimmelman Article

I’m not sure if I understand the Kimmelman Article completely, but what I got out of it was that art and the final project is not always a planned outcome that you want to achieve from the beginning. It is something that takes time. New ideas can come from past experiences or present ones. Maybe that moment where you think you messed up or did something on accident turned out to be something great and you want to incorporate it into your final product. Another thing that I read that I thought was interesting was that sometimes artists think there done, but after time something may come up and you might want to add something. I think that is the coolest part about art is that the possibilities are endless and nothing is really planned.

All in all I liked this article if I had to critic one thing it was the fact that it was worded weird and hard to understand at first. I think that that was partially due to the fact that it was only a small section of a big piece.

Walker Article

After having read the walker article it was very clear to me that the author was emphasizing on the big idea of things rather than the small details. It made me realize that most artist do try to capture a big Idea in throughout their career. The big idea will not be achieved by just one simple painting or one sculpture; it takes time and is created through numerous works of art. This article was very interesting to me because I never really thought of all the artworks combining to make one idea. I was just looking at each piece individually and try to capture its meaning.
One thing that was kind of confusing to me was the fact that it jumped around a lot and there were a lot of side notes. I sometimes got lost in my reading but, once I got the structure of the article down it was an easy read.

Barrett Article

In this article it talked a lot about connotation and denotation. Connotation means the associated or secondary meaning of a word or expression in addition to its explicit or primary meaning. To me this is saying that one idea or word has two meanings or kind of like a hidden meaning. Denotation is the explicit or direct meaning or set of meanings of a word or expression, as distinguished from the ideas or meanings associated with it or suggested by it. I think this more means more in your face them telling you directly what’s going on.
At first I had a hard time interpreting the mean of both denotation and connotation but, once I looked it up and they gave examples I was fine.

Thoughts On Articles

The Cheese Monkeys

After having read The Cheese Monkeys I didn’t really know what to think about it. There was I few things that I enjoyed about the article. For one it was very well written and flowed very nicely. I also liked how epic the author made the article seem for example when he said “when you leave here you are not going to work, you’re going to war. It made it seem like he was giving a very important speech.

On the other hand this article left me with a lot of questions. I didn’t really understand where the title came from. I feel as if it had no relation to the article at all. I also couldn’t tell who the person was talking to. Was he talking to a group of students? Was he teaching a class? To me the left to right top to bottom thing was a little over the top to me. I just didn’t really understand the meaning of it I guess.

Hickey-The Heresy of Zone Defense

In the short article Hickey-The Heresy of Zone Defense it describes a play in the 1980 NBA Finals that was played by the Lakers and Seventy-Sixers. I still remember this play; it was when Julius Erving went up against Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and made a reverse layup from behind the back board. It was an amazing play. I really enjoyed reading this because it went into great detail about the play. I also enjoyed how it related basketball to art. It told us about how far the game of basketball has come since it’s started and how many times the rules have changed. This goes the same for art there are new ways of creating art that come out every day and there is no limit on what people can do.

I didn’t really dislike anything from this article I enjoyed reading it and it answered all my questions that I may have had. It was a great well written article.
