Thoughts On Articles

The Cheese Monkeys

After having read The Cheese Monkeys I didn’t really know what to think about it. There was I few things that I enjoyed about the article. For one it was very well written and flowed very nicely. I also liked how epic the author made the article seem for example when he said “when you leave here you are not going to work, you’re going to war. It made it seem like he was giving a very important speech.

On the other hand this article left me with a lot of questions. I didn’t really understand where the title came from. I feel as if it had no relation to the article at all. I also couldn’t tell who the person was talking to. Was he talking to a group of students? Was he teaching a class? To me the left to right top to bottom thing was a little over the top to me. I just didn’t really understand the meaning of it I guess.

Hickey-The Heresy of Zone Defense

In the short article Hickey-The Heresy of Zone Defense it describes a play in the 1980 NBA Finals that was played by the Lakers and Seventy-Sixers. I still remember this play; it was when Julius Erving went up against Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and made a reverse layup from behind the back board. It was an amazing play. I really enjoyed reading this because it went into great detail about the play. I also enjoyed how it related basketball to art. It told us about how far the game of basketball has come since it’s started and how many times the rules have changed. This goes the same for art there are new ways of creating art that come out every day and there is no limit on what people can do.

I didn’t really dislike anything from this article I enjoyed reading it and it answered all my questions that I may have had. It was a great well written article.
